One Last Giveaway

Petey and Friends

Meet Petey, the penguin. As you can see, I really like my new Marvy snowflake punch...I'm using it again on this little gift tag featuring our new stamp, "Petey with Present" and also below with Petey and a bunch of his friends:



I found this cute little easel and canvas at Hawaiian Graphics (I'm not sure if they still have it in stock though!!). Anyway...are you ready for another giveaway? Snowflake Buddy

Happy Saturday!! Aren't the weekends great? Well, I'm ready to share the next design in our new Christmas line....Buddy the Monkey with a Snowflake!!! I used a tag rim for the base of this ornament and double stick taped a snowflake punched from a Marvy (blue) snowflake punch. (Of course, I HAD to add the glitter and bling!!!!). Next, I used a pop dot to mount "Snowflake Buddy" in the center of the snowflake. I added more glitter and bling and tied a silver cord (decorated with beads) to the metal rim. Simple!! So, the giveaway for today is the "Snowflake Buddy" stamp along with a set of 3 ornaments pictured below:



Just leave me a comment by midnight on Sunday, October 5 (Hawaii time) telling me about the first time you saw snow (I know this might not be a big deal for people who get snow every winter, but for us here in Hawaii...it's a big deal!!!). I'll pick one winner at random and announce their name on Monday, October 6. The first time I saw snow was when I was 17 years old in Chicago. We went for a conference, and one night when we went down to the lobby of the hotel (at around 10:00 at night) and the snow was lightly falling...all the Hawaii kids ran out on the street to play (the other kids just stared at us from the warm hotel lobby). There really wasn't much snow falling, so we scooped snow off of some parked cars to throw at each other in an impromptu snowball fight!!

I'm Back...

and ready to start sharing my new Christmas stamps with you!!! Today I made a card using 3 of my new designs...Maddy & Snowman, Snowman Hi and Christmas Hugs. I may have gone a little overboard on the glitter, but you really can't have too much sparkle for Christmas, right? Anyway, here's my card:

Happiest Thanksgiving

Ok...as promised, here is the make 'n take project we did at J's Knicknacks yesterday. You can download the pattern for this card here. The turkey and "Happiest Thanksgiving" wording are connected to a thread...when you pull the thread, a card rises up like this:



We'll start with the pattern...cut along the solid lines, and fold along the dotted ones. There's also a dot on the pattern...use a 1/16" hole punch to punch a hole right at the dot. Next, apply double stick tape to the 2 quarter inch tabs (don't peel off the backing paper yet). You'll also have to cut a 10' piece of thread and tape one end down as shown below:



As you can see, there's also a white piece of cardstock...this is where you'll stamp your images. The white cardstock measures 2-7/8" wide (maybe just a little less than that) x 3-3/4" long. Punch another 1/16" hole (centered) about 1/2" from the bottom of the white cardstock. You'll want to stamp your images close to the top of the white cardstock.



For the next step...have the stamped side of your white cardstock facing the side of the card with the tabs (that's the front). Take the loose end of the thread and pass it through the hole in the white cardstock (from back to front), and then through the other hole you punched. Now remove the double stick tape from the tabs. Fit the white cardstock between the two tabs, and fold the tabs over the cardstock. Fold the printed cardstock in half, along fold lines and press to secure the double stick tape. Now, you'll just have to make a pull tab to attach to the loose end of the thread. To attach the pull tab, make sure the white cardstock is pushed all the way in...then simply tape the loose end of thread to the back of your pull tab (tape it as close as you can to the point where the thread comes out of the hole), and trim away the excess thread. Phew!! Hope you got all of that!! Please fell free to write to me if something doesn't make sense.

Spooky!

It's Friday!!! And we're doing another giveaway to get you into the stamping mood for the weekend!!! This time we're giving away this trio of new stamps...Halloween Cat, 2 Pumpkins and Spooky Halloween. Leave a post by midnight tomorrow (Saturday,September 27, Hawaii time) telling me what your favorite Halloween candy was when you were a kid. I'll pick one winner, at random, and post their name on Sunday, September 28. I've gotta say, I used to like that powdered candy that came in the little straws...either that or Smarties...remember those?

About this project...just a little something to decorate your desk. It's 2-1/2" wide and 3-1/4" long (scored at 1", 2" 3" and 3-1/4") and folded into a triangular base. Images were mounted on pop dots, and I added some googly eyes to the 2 o's in "spooky".
