Cards to Share

Back to share some card ideas with you.  These cards were all made by very talented crafters...I hope they inspire you as much as they have inspired me...

First up is a card from Beth...as you can see, it came all the way from Sunny Florida...it sure brightened up my day!!!  Visit her blog to see all of her creative projects.

 Next up is a card from Eunice (A Star for Chiemi)  oh my...how cute is this?  She used stamps from AL-1 (Sakura Alphabet) to spell out "Arigato"..also each tiny sakura flower was punched out and glued on!!!  Cute!!!

Audrey sent me this cute little tag that she used as "thank you's" for her daughter's graduation from Roosevelt (Go Rough Riders!!!) They're laminated with graduation info on the back...what a nice surprise in a thank you card!!!!

 I'm sure you're all familiar with Patti's work by now....adorable!!  She has a link to instructions for this cute treat box (with spout!!!)...stamps are from MC-1 (Friend to Friend). Cute as always!!!!

And last, but not least is a card from Tina in WA...love her cute, fun style!! Makes me happy just looking at this card!!

Thanks to all the ladies for sharing their creativity.  Each person has their own unique style and it inspires me to see things from a different perspective!!

A Fun Card from Lianne

I've been meaning to share this card that Lianne from Cute Stuff gave me...I've had it for awhile, but I'm just now getting around to share it with you:

You and Me Time

Can you believe it's already August?  Time sure flies...sometimes you have to slow down and get together with a good friend over a cup of tea...that was the idea behind this card.  I combined the pattern from CL-8 (Friends) with a couple of our new cling sets (MC-24-Tea Time and MC-25-Hi There) to make this card that fits into a legal size envelope:

 

Sakura branch and flower stamps are from CL-11 (Keiko Cling Set).  Here are some other super cute creations using MC-24 (Tea Time)...love the colors and movement on this card by Cheryl...and this adorable teabag holder from Patti!!  Super cute!!!  Sure puts you in the stamping mood!!!!!

Just For Fun

Happy Aloha Friday!!!  Just popping in to share a quick project.  Sometimes I get stuck on certain ideas for awhile...recently I've been stuck on the candy "pouch" I did a couple of posts back.  This time I made it larger, and with cellophane (with strips of card stock at each end to seal it).

Just a fun little gift.  

Oh...by the way...to make the magnets in the last post I used Tombow Mono Aqua glue to adhere the design to the glass marble (although I know some people also use Glossy Accents).  After that dries, I brush Mod Podge on the back to seal it before attaching the magnet with Tacky Glue.

Magnets and a Paperweight

First off...I apologize for the awful photos.  While these marbles have a nice pearly sheen in real life, they are terribly hard to capture in photos.  Anyway, I hope this is good enough to give you an idea.  I used stamps from AL-1 (Sakura Alphabet) to spell out a name for a refrigerator, dorm room, filing cabinet, etc.

 While I was at it, I also made a paperweight using SC-5 (Aiko With Daisy).  I got the paperweight at Ben Franklin...it looks tiny, but it has a 2-1/4" diameter.

Now that I have these made up, I thought it would be fun to give them away.  Instead of hoping that a "Kristen" would want them...I thought I'd give them away one by one.  So, to enter...your name (or a loved one's name) needs to start with the letter K, R. I, S, T, E or N...be the first to claim each letter with a comment on this post telling me what the name is (one entry per person, please).  I'll also do a random drawing from the comments for the paperweight (anyone can enter for the paper weight)...enter by Wednesday and I'll announce the winners on Thursday.

Fun Size Treats

When you need a bunch of little treats...

 

Stamps used:  #6012 (Just Because) and #6013 (Little Bouquet)

 Simply cut a 4" x 5-1/2" piece of paper.  On the backside of the paper, apply double stick tape down one side edge of the paper.  Cut two 2" strips of double stick tape and center it...one on the top edge and one on the bottom edge.  Wrap the paper around the candy...seal along center back.

 

Pinch down on both ends to close:

Musubi Graduation

Hey there!!  It's Friday...I'm sure you're all looking forward to a great weekend!!!  I know it's a little late for graduation cards...but this idea just popped into my mind, so I thought I'd share it before I forget it (you can always use this idea next year, right?)  It's a money card that can be used for guys...which I think is always a challenge when you're crafting!!

Click here for a really simple pattern.  Cut along the solid lines and fold along the dotted lines.  Apply double stick tape to 2 tabs. The image and saying are simply mounted on a belly band that goes around the card to keep it closed.  Since it takes about 15" to wrap around the card, you have to cut out 2 pieces of card stock to make the band.  Both are 2" wide...cut one at 7-3/4" and one at 7".  Take the longer strip and lay it across the front of the card (with approximately 3/8" on each side).  Wrap the ends around to the back of the card and apply double stick tape to each tab.  Attach the 7" piece of card stock to each tab.

Beach Bag Favor

Yikes!!  I posted this article last night and this morning...it was gone!!!!    Oh well...here we go one more time with the instructions for this little summer time treat:

This project starts off with a simple box pattern for the base...click here for a pattern.  Cut the pattern along the solid lines and fold along the dotted lines.  Apply double stick tape to the 4 tabs.  Cut a 3/4" x 7-3/4" strip of coordinating paper.  Apply double stick tape lengthwise to the backside of the paper, along both edges (as shown below):

Remove the backing paper from one strip of double stick tape and attach a 5" x 7-3/4" piece of cellophane (as shown below).  Also, apply 1 strip of double stick tape to the top edge of the cellophane.  Fold the top of the cellophane down 1" and make a sharp crease...adhere with double stick tape.

Next, apply one strip of double stick tape to the left edge of the cellophane:

To make the holes at the top of the bag, I made a guide out of card stock.  Cut a 7-3/4" piece of card stock and, starting at the left edge, mark off every 1/2".  Place the guide behind the cellophane, centering it in the top flap.  (You can temporarily tape it down so it doesn't slip).  Use a 1/4" hole punch to punch 15 holes (Punching through the card stock makes it much easier to punch holes through cellophane).

Flip the whole piece over and attach to the base piece as shown below.  When you get all the way around, remove the double stick tape backing from the side edge of the cellophane and adhere.

Cut two 12" pieces of 1/8" ribbon.  Take the end of one of the ribbons, and starting at one side, thread the ribbon down one hole and up the next...continue until you get all the way around and tie both ends together in a knot:

Do the same thing with the other piece of ribbon, but start at the opposite side:

Stamp, color and cut out the following images from CL-6 (Sunny Days).  Use a foam dot to attach the legs, giving it more dimension.

Attach the girl to the favor with double stick tape.

Oh...by the way...if you're wondering about the unique candy...it's chocolate and I found it at Samurai Shave Ice in Aiea.  I don't know if you can see it, but it has a really pretty pearly shine to it!!
