Happy Weekend!!

Just stopping by to share a pattern to make this cute box with a flip top.  The stamp I used for this first box is from Love & Hugs (CL-22).  I cut out a couple of extra flowers to dangle from the end of the cords and covered them all in glossy accents.

You can add some cash or gift cards to give to your favorite world traveler...
Stamps used:  Awesome Trip (SC-16) and Airplane (#6071)

Click here to get a copy of the pattern.  You know the routine...cut along the solid lines and fold along the dotted ones :)  I altered the pattern a bit so I could get different paper patterns on the box and cover.  To do that, cut the cover out of one paper 1/4" below the bottom dotted line (as shown below):

Add double stick tape to the tabs...

Cut the box piece out of a different patterned paper along the pink lines below (of course, if you are using just one paper, then just cut the entire pattern piece out).

Use a die or punch to make a window if  you choose, and tape some acetate to the backside of the window...add double stick tape to the four tabs, as shown below:

Then simply tape the cover and box together:

Adhere the box sides...

Then adhere the tabs on the cover piece.  Add your stamped image and tie a ribbon to finish the box off.

Stamp is from You Make Me Smile (MC-58)

Dog House

Here's a quick and easy favor for your next dog-themed party!!  Click here for a pattern.

Cut along solid lines and fold along dotted lines.  Apply double stick tape to each of the 6 tabs.  Punch 1/8" holes as indicated by the dots on the pattern (2 holes on the house and 2 holes on the roof).  Cut a small piece of acetate measuring 1-1/2" wide and 1-1/4" tall.  Glue your dog  in the center.  Add foam dots to each corner (I'm using really small dots but if you have a larger size, just cut to the right size...you just don't want the foam dots visible through the dog house opening).

Adhere the first two tabs to the dog house front.  Position the acetate piece with your dog image to the inside of the opening...centered in the opening with feet on the ground.

Adhere the next 2 tabs to the back of the dog house.

Adhere half the roof to the last 2 tabs.

Cut a 9" piece of cord or ribbon.  Starting from the inside of the house, thread each end of the cord through the 2 holes...continue each end through each hole in the roof.  Insert your treats and tie the cord into a bow.

Box for Hand Sanitizers

Here's a template for this little box:

It's the perfect size to hold a bottle of hand sanitizer or other little treat!!

To make...simply cut along solid lines and fold along dotted lines.  Cut out another piece using contrasting paper (this piece will go behind the heart window.  Stamp, color and cut out your images...I used mini stamp #6040 (Emi) and #6041 (Mari).  Position contrasting paper behind window so you can center stamped images in window, glue down.  Glue the contrasting paper behind the window.  Apply double stick tape to four tabs.  Using a 1/16" hole punch, punch out three holes as indicated by the dots on the pattern.  Thread a 10" piece of cord through two holes as shown below.  Once the box is assembled, thread the cord through the final hole to tie the cover shut.

Catching up...

Finally getting around to posting a pattern and instructions on how to make this little box:

Start by cutting 2 pattern pieces along the solid lines and fold along dotted lines.  Apply double stick tape to top edge of cover (below, left)....and 4 tabs of box (below, right).  Stamp image of girl (from cling set, Special Day MC-61) onto center section of box cover...and cut out "window".  Next stamp, color and cut out image of girl, bird and banner (banner is from cling set, Enjoy Today MC-60).  Also, cut a 2" x 2" piece of acetate and apply double stick tape to all 4 edges.

Form box by folding all four sides up and adhere to tab at each corner.  Glue the colored images of the girl and bird onto the stamped image on the box cover.  Add banner with some double stick foam dots.

Flip cover piece over and tape the piece of acetate behind the cut out window:

Wrap cover around the box and hold closed with the double stick tape:

Here's a slight variation...add a little "shoji" door to the top of the box (pattern for shoji door also included):

Cut out shoji door and glue a piece of vellum paper behind it.  Mount shoji door on thin strips of double stick foam.  Use double stick foam again to raise the image of the girl.  Kimono girl and sakura flowers are from cling set, Arigato CL-20
