Happy Weekend!!

Just stopping by to share a pattern to make this cute box with a flip top.  The stamp I used for this first box is from Love & Hugs (CL-22).  I cut out a couple of extra flowers to dangle from the end of the cords and covered them all in glossy accents.

You can add some cash or gift cards to give to your favorite world traveler...
Stamps used:  Awesome Trip (SC-16) and Airplane (#6071)

Click here to get a copy of the pattern.  You know the routine...cut along the solid lines and fold along the dotted ones :)  I altered the pattern a bit so I could get different paper patterns on the box and cover.  To do that, cut the cover out of one paper 1/4" below the bottom dotted line (as shown below):

Add double stick tape to the tabs...

Cut the box piece out of a different patterned paper along the pink lines below (of course, if you are using just one paper, then just cut the entire pattern piece out).

Use a die or punch to make a window if  you choose, and tape some acetate to the backside of the window...add double stick tape to the four tabs, as shown below:

Then simply tape the cover and box together:

Adhere the box sides...

Then adhere the tabs on the cover piece.  Add your stamped image and tie a ribbon to finish the box off.

Stamp is from You Make Me Smile (MC-58)

Box with Double Lid

Just in time for Girl's Day...a cute gift box with a double lid.  Lift the first lid to reveal...

...a second lid!!  Lift the second lid to reveal...

...a treat or gift!!!

Click here to get a pattern to make this box.  Cut out along solid lines and fold along dotted lines.  Add double stick tape to 4 side tabs and one top tab (see arrows).  Cut two slits as indicated on pattern.  Cut two pieces of ribbon or cord 7" long.  Slip one end through each slit and tape down.

Tape side tabs to form box.  Tape top tab down to hide ribbon end.  Glue stamped images on each lid and fill your box with goodies!!!  Girl's Day is on March 3...plenty of time to get started :)

Box for Hand Sanitizers

Here's a template for this little box:

It's the perfect size to hold a bottle of hand sanitizer or other little treat!!

To make...simply cut along solid lines and fold along dotted lines.  Cut out another piece using contrasting paper (this piece will go behind the heart window.  Stamp, color and cut out your images...I used mini stamp #6040 (Emi) and #6041 (Mari).  Position contrasting paper behind window so you can center stamped images in window, glue down.  Glue the contrasting paper behind the window.  Apply double stick tape to four tabs.  Using a 1/16" hole punch, punch out three holes as indicated by the dots on the pattern.  Thread a 10" piece of cord through two holes as shown below.  Once the box is assembled, thread the cord through the final hole to tie the cover shut.

Pineapple Card

Happy Saturday!  Found this cute pineapple paper at Ben Franklin (Imaginisce - Pineapple Days) and knew I had to make a pineapple card!!  Click here to get a pattern.

Open the top of the pineapple to reveal a greeting of "Aloha!"

Cut out three pattern pieces along solid lines and fold along dotted lines.  If using a paper with a one-way pattern, make sure you cut out the pattern so the design faces the right way (see below).  Glue the hula girl on the thin strip, right under the fold line.  Put some double stick tape on the tab at the top of the strip.

Adhere the strip with the hula girl onto the main card piece, as shown below.  Put double stick tape along the edges of the pineapple (between the 2 dots on the pattern).

Lift up the strip with the hula girl and add one more piece of double stick tape, right at the fold.  Remove backing tape from double stick tape and fold the strip back down.

Fold the bottom part of the card up and secure with the double stick tape:

Fold the top of the card down and add some double stick foam, as shown below.  I also added a greeting to the top of the pineapple:

Mount the top of the pineapple onto the foam dots:

All stamps used in this project are from our cling set, "Aloha" (CL-17).

Catching Up...Part 2

Posted a desk caddy project awhile ago...and I'm just now catching up with posting a pattern to make this project.  Thanks for "bearing" with me ;)

To start, cut out main box piece (black) and 3 compartment pieces along the solid lines.  Fold along the dotted lines.  For main box piece...attach tabs (with double stick tape) to the INSIDE of the box.  For compartment pieces...attach tabs (with double stick tape) to the OUTSIDE of the compartment piece.  This way when everything is all put together, none of the tabs will be showing.

Here's a picture of all the pieces folded into boxes:

**Note that for all the compartment pieces...the printed design is on the inside of the box

Attach a header piece with double stick tape to the back side of the box (the back side that measures 3-1/4").  Header piece should be 3" wide x 4-1/2" tall.  I used a heavy weight plastic, but cardstock works just as well:

Then just glue compartments into box (put glue on all sides and bottom of compartment pieces)...and decorate the header.  Stamps for this project are from our cling set "You Make Me Smile" (MC-58)

Thanks for stopping by :)

A Gift for Teacher

A gift of stamps for teacher...

A perfect gift in a pencil box...

Click here to get a pattern.   And here's some quick how-to's...Cut out all pattern pieces along solid lines, and fold along dotted lines.  Add double stick tape to all the tabs.  To make the pencil, cut out the pencil pattern pieces in different colored papers.  Add a few touches with a black pen (tip of pencil, outlines, lines on the pencil and a few dots):

The box to hold the stamps is easy...just fold up the four sides and use the tabs to form the corners of the box.  For the outer box...tape the first set of tabs along one side of the pencil point.  To make the pencil, glue the yellow and pink pieces onto the main pencil piece:

Next...continue to adhere the next set of tabs onto the other side of the pencil point:

Fold in the remaining tabs as shown below (For this last step, I like to put the inner box in before I tape the last side shut...this way you can make sure you get the right fit).  Glue on the last piece of the pencil (there is no pattern piece for this part.  Simply cut a 1/4" wide piece as long as the width of the pencil), glue the finished pencil to the top of the box...

then simply insert the stamps...

All the stamps used in this project are new minis that have just been released (even the to/from stamp on the top of the box!!).

Paradise in a Box

While I still had my sand out from my last project...thought I'd make a beach scene in a box.  Perfect to send to family and friends who are away and may be missing the island life...

Click here for the cover pattern...cut 2, one for the top and one for the bottom.  Put double stick tape on all four tabs of each piece (see below).  Cut a 4-1/2" x 6-3/4" piece of acetate.  Score at 1", 2", 4-1/4" and 5-1/4".  Fold at each scored line and tape edges together at back "seam".  The trickiest part of this project is keeping the measurement of the back panel at 2-1/4" wide when you tape the ends together.  Make your scene on a piece that will fit on back wall of acetate box.  I tried to pop up many layers to get more dimension.

Place the acetate box in one of the cover pieces.  Adhere the side tabs first, as shown below:

Then adhere the other two tabs.   Fill with sand, place your scene along back wall and tape the top cover on in the same way as the bottom.
