Snowflake Buddy

Happy Saturday!! Aren't the weekends great? Well, I'm ready to share the next design in our new Christmas line....Buddy the Monkey with a Snowflake!!! I used a tag rim for the base of this ornament and double stick taped a snowflake punched from a Marvy (blue) snowflake punch. (Of course, I HAD to add the glitter and bling!!!!). Next, I used a pop dot to mount "Snowflake Buddy" in the center of the snowflake. I added more glitter and bling and tied a silver cord (decorated with beads) to the metal rim. Simple!! So, the giveaway for today is the "Snowflake Buddy" stamp along with a set of 3 ornaments pictured below:

Just leave me a comment by midnight on Sunday, October 5 (Hawaii time) telling me about the first time you saw snow (I know this might not be a big deal for people who get snow every winter, but for us here in Hawaii...it's a big deal!!!). I'll pick one winner at random and announce their name on Monday, October 6. The first time I saw snow was when I was 17 years old in Chicago. We went for a conference, and one night when we went down to the lobby of the hotel (at around 10:00 at night) and the snow was lightly falling...all the Hawaii kids ran out on the street to play (the other kids just stared at us from the warm hotel lobby). There really wasn't much snow falling, so we scooped snow off of some parked cars to throw at each other in an impromptu snowball fight!!

Good luck to all!!!

Note: Thanks to the anonymous comment regarding the pattern for "A Sweet Surprise" (4/29/08). Please try downloading it again...it should be working now!!! Thanks for letting me know!!!

Hi Jean,
The first time I ever saw snow was when I went to Sedona. I was told I wouldn't see snow at that time of year, but lo and behold! It snowed! Love all the cutey Christmas stamps! Hope I win this one!

I was born in Iowa so I don't really remember the first time I saw snow, but I do have a funny story about snow. My family moved to TN when I was 9 and so later I decided to go to college in Wisconsin. Well, they all thought that because I came to college from the South that I never saw snow. During the very first snowstorm at college my friends thought I needed initiating with the snow. They proceeded to push me headfirst into the snow as if I had never seen it before. They found it very amusing! I on the other hand did not - at the time. Thanks for a chance to share my story and for a chance to win one of your adorable stamps!

Jean, Buddy is sooooo adorable with the snowflake!!! I can't share my memory of the first time I saw snow because I still haven't seen any! The one time it snowed when I was on a school trip in D.C. was the time when my friends and decided to play sick and skip the mandatory dinner. Of course it was bachi, so everyone that went to the dinner saw snow, but the rest of us had to see the nurse and didn't get to see the snow. Bummers!

The first time I saw snow and played in snow - was a stopover we had in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our friend picked us up at the airport to drive around the city for a few hours and we stopped to build a snowman and have a snowball fight.
Buddy is another cute image!!

I was in college when I had my first experience with snow falling in the city. It wasn't cold enough for the snow to "stick" but the falling snow was still beautiful. Thanks for sharing your cute Buddy creation. He is such an adorable guy - full of mischief.

This is such an adorable idea and easy too! I don't remember my first encounter with snow. I was born in Germany and it was snowing when I was born, so I guess my first encounter would've been when I was brought home from the hospital!

Snowflake Buddy is adorable. I just bought Buddy with Christmas Lights yesterday...he's so cute. The first time I saw snow was in Washington. It was the first time I ever spent Christmas away from home. I was bundled up in thick winter clothes and my cousin took us to Mt. Rainier. I was so excited to see the snow. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced...very fluffy and powdery...and then I stepped and I sunk to my knees... they all laughed at me for several minutes before someone came to help me out. Good thing for snow pants!

Hi Jean,

I can't remember how old I was when I first saw snow, but it wasn't on the mainland. It was on the Big Island on top of Mauna Kea. My father borrowed my uncle's jeep and he took us up to the top. We had alot of fun playing in the snow. I love the cute monkey stamp.

Cute! Love your ideas. The first time I saw snow was in Reno...but it was already on the ground and it was more like melted ice. I've never seen snow falling....oh well, maybe one of these days.

Hi Dandelion Lady (Jean)....
The first time I saw snow was when I was 50 yrs old (yikes, that sounds so young now!!). I was flying from Florida (convention) to Chicago and looking out, noticed the ground was getting whiter and whiter. Suddenly realized it was SNOW. Could hardly wait to land at O'Hare and run out of the terminal so I could touch it and make a snowball. I was only wearing jeans and t-shirt and it was supposedly cold but I was having so much fun. I had to smooch it on my face and took my shoes off so I could walk in it. Knew better than to put it in my mouth tho. People were looking at me like I was nuts or something. But it's a crazy loving memory of my first snow encounter. LOL. Probably much like Buddy's first encounter with snow too. Have a great day! MarilynY

I can’t wait to try this. I think the Snowflake Buddy is adorable. I don’t remember the first time I saw snow but my most recent memory was when I traveled with my son and his class to the East Coast. We arrived in Boston and the next day it snowed. The kids were so excited as well as the parents. We had so much fun that week.

The first time I saw snow was when my family and I took a trip to Lake Tahoe. I think I was about 8 years old. I remember not wanting to go outside of the car because it was so cold, but once I did, I just did not want to get back in the car. I don't usually win, but I would sure love to!! =)
