Happy Sunday!!!

Just another lazy Sunday afternoon...and I'm finally signing on to announce the winner of our latest giveaway. Before I do, I just want to thank everyone for following along as I introduced my new designs for Fall and Christmas...and for leaving such nice comments!!! Our final winner of the year is JAN!!! Jan, please send your address to me at dandelion.designs@hawaiiantel.net, and I will send your stamps out to you!!!

I can't believe that it's almost the end of October and Halloween is upon us. If you're anything like me...you'll be jamming this week to get your Halloween goodies out...hope I can help with some ideas. Here's a quick idea using my Martha Stewart fence punch (again!) to make a Halloween pumpkin patch:

I started off with these candies since they were the right size and "pumpkin-shaped":

I used two 5" x 5" squares of orange tissue paper to wrap each candy:

I just wrapped the tissue around the candy and scrunched up the top like this:

Then, I cut about 5" of ribbon and put some double stick tape along one side...I used this ribbon to wrap around the top of the tissue paper to seal in the candy and form a pumpkin stem. (Trim off any tissue paper sticking out of the top). I finished it off with a length of leaf garland (from Ben Franklin) wrapped around the stem. Below, I used stamp #C106 (Maddy the Witch) with double stick foam on a single candy pumpkin:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend...and have a great week!!!

2 Winners and a Make 'n Take

Happy Monday to all!!! We'll get a good start to this new week by announcing the 2 winners of our giveaway. The first one is Sweet Craf-tea Chick (isn't that a cute name?) and the second is our international winner (all the way from Belgium), Saskia!!! Ladies, please send me an email (dandelion.designs@hawaiiantel.net) with your addresses and I'll get these stamps out to you!!!

Over the weekend I did at make 'n take at Cute Stuff...here's the project we did:

It's a little slide box with a shaker top. To get a pattern for this box, please click here. Cut along the solid lines and fold along the dotted lines. (I used a blue Marvy oval punch to make the cut out.)

Using double stick tape, adhere a 2" x 2-1/2" piece of acetate to the back of the oval window (as shown above, left)...then, cut thin strips of double stick foam tape and place over acetate piece (right, above). Next, stamp a sentiment on a contrasting paper and punch out with a Marvy (blue) oval punch. Position and glue as shown (below, left). Make sure your sentiment is centered in the window when you fold it up as shown below, right.

Now you can remove the backing paper from the foam tape...sprinkle some confetti/glitter right over the sentiment (keeping the edges free of confetti)...carefully fold and position frame right over sentiment...press down on the foam tape to adhere. Then you just have to decorate your box top...I used a Marvy (blue) oval punch and a (pink) scalloped oval punch to form the frame.

To make the drawer portion of the box, simply apply double stick tape on each of the 4 tabs and fold box together along dotted lines.

I used a 1/8" hole punch to make a hole on one of the sides. Cut a 6" piece of ribbon, fold in half and tie a knot as shown below:

Thread the loop end of the ribbon through the punched hole (from the inside out):

Here are more samples using Ping & Pong:

Here's our giveaway for today...

Should come in handy for all of you who like to make and give yummy snacks for the holidays!! Leave me a post by midnight (Hawaii time) on Wednesday, October 21...tell me what food goodies you're planning to make/give this holiday season that would make our mouths water!!! I'll announce the winner on Thursday, October 22!!!

One more card I'd like to share...this cutie is from Brenda:

Thanks, Brenda!!! Can't believe Halloween is coming up so soon...I'd better get busy on some Halloween ideas before it's too late!!!

Remember Newspaper Hats?

One day I was showing my son how we used to make hats for ourselves using a sheet of newspaper (we were very easily amused back then :)

In the process, it made me think of how I could use it as a rubber stamping project (what doesn't make me think of a rubber stamping project??). Anyway...here is the project I came up with, featuring more of my new Christmas designs:

These 2 guys are my playful panda twins, Ping & Pong! I made these little pouch ornaments that can be hung from your Christmas tree. To start, cut a 6" x 8" piece of paper (don't use cardstock...it's too thick).

Fold your paper in half to form a 4" x 6" piece (as shown left, above)...then fold each corner to center (right, above).

Then fold 1 layer of bottom edge up by 1/2" (left, above)...fold up again (right, above).

Flip your piece over and fold bottom edge up 2 times again. Now open it up (right, above) and bring the 2 opposite corners together (below):

After that, I punched a 1/8" hole in each of the top points...set an eyelet in each one, and then thread a silver cord through both holes.

To win the stamps I've used in this project, leave me a comment by midnight (Hawaii time) on Sunday, October 18...I'll pick 2 winners again...1 at random...and 1 at random from all entries from outside of the United States. Good luck to all...I'll announce the winner on Monday, October 19.

ETA: I forgot to mention...in your comment, please let me know if you're from outside the United States (also what country you're from). Thanks!!! (Berenice, I know you're from Mexico!! :)

Hope to see you tomorrow at Cute Stuff!!!

After the make 'n take on Saturday, I had a few extra kits and decided to make a Halloween sample:

and a wedding one too:

I was also luck enough to receive some very special goodies, from some very special people. Here's a Halloween treat from Kelli:

Please stop by Kelli's blog to see more of her cute creations!! The next goodie was from Cindy and Carol...such a clever creation!! Can you believe it was made completely of scalloped circle punches?

This next bag of treats and notecards was from Yuki...I've known Yuki for awhile now...but, just recently got to meet her and her sweet daughter, Keila, while they were here on vacation last week. Thanks, Yuki!!! I know you don't miss the humid weather!!!

Thanks also to Carole...for those delicious homegrown avocados!!! Yum!!! You're always so thoughtful!!!

One last thing...this sweet calendar is from Lianne (Cute Stuff), using Watermelon Buddy!!! Isn't that paper the perfect match? This will go right on my desk as soon as the new year starts!!! Inside Out Box

Hope you're all having a nice, relaxing Sunday!! Yesterday we had a make 'n take at J's Knicknacks, where we made this "inside out" box. I call it that because from the outside it looks like this:

But, when you turn it inside out, it looks like this (the cover of the gift box becomes the base for this standing greeting):

To make this box, start with an 8" x 8" piece of card stock. Score it at 3" away from each side (as shown on the left, below). Then cut away the four corner squares (as shown on the right, below):

Fold along each of the scored lines in both directions (front and back). Stamp your sentiment on one of the sides (close to the fold, if it's a long sentiment...you want to make sure the words clear the base when you turn the box inside out). To get a pattern for the other 2 pieces needed, click here. For both pieces, cut along the solid lines and fold along the dotted lines. For the the cover/base, apply double stick tape to the four tabs (as shown below), and adhere to make cover/base. The other piece is a "stand" where you can attach your stamped images...use double stick tape on the one tab to form the cube shape shown below.

I used my Marvy (blue) oval punch and Marvy (pink) scalloped circle punch to make a frame for my 2 stamped images: #C128 (Ornament) and C129 (Pine Branch). Next, I used double stick tape to attach the "stand" to the center square. Glue or tape you stamped images to the stand. I also used a little bit of double stick tape on each side of the cover to help hold the ribbon in place:

Here's a bird's eye view of how the stamped images look when you first take the cover off the box:

Now for the giveaway!!! Thought I'd try something different this time!! There will be 2 winners!! One will be totally at random from all the entries...the other will be randomly chosen from all the entries that come outside of Hawaii (thought it might be fun to send my stamps to some far off land!!!). So leave a comment by midnight (Hawaii time) on Tuesday, October 13...and I'll announce the winners on Wednesday, October 14!! Please be sure to tell me where you're from...and maybe a little bit about yourself!! Oh yeah...here are the stamps I'm giving away:

Good luck!!
