A Belated Birthday

I designed these stamps to go together...but I think that each one could make a cute separate card. I started with plain gift tags (these are from Paper Reflections). First I stamped the pig images, then masked them. (To make a mask...stamp your image on a piece of paper...I like to use post-it notes so it has some stick on the back...then cut out that image on the post-it and stick it on top of the stamped image on your tag. By doing that, I can stamp the flower images around the pig, but nothing will overlap and cover the pig stamp.) For the flower borders I tore a strip of paper (Provo Craft - Pink and Orange Flowers) and cut it to fit the top and bottom of each tag...then glued it on. I stamped the word stamps and punch holes and tied ribbons (these ribbons are from Martha Stewart).

To join the tags together, I made paper "hinges". I cut little pieces of cardstock and folded them in half either forward or backward (depending on which way I want the tag to go). Then I just glued them on the back of the tags to attach them together. This is what it looks like from the back:

Ok...when I cut out the "hinges" I thought peach would be a good color to match the colors on the front. But from the back they look like little bandaids!! Oh well..maybe next time I'll make them out of white cardstock. :)

Stamps used: #5019 (oops Pig), #5020 (Oops), #5021 (I'm Sorry Pig), #5022 (I'm Sorry). #5023 (Remember Pig), #5024 (I forgot), #5025 (Ta-Daa Pig), #5026 (Belated Birthday), #4003 (Flower Power) and #4004 (Mini Flower Power).

Happy B-Day

I've been wanting to do a black and white card for awhile now. I like the contrast of the black and white with a pop of bright color! The papers I used for this card are from Doodlebug Designs (Black Bouquet) and Cloud 9 Designs (Bloomin' Love). The ribbon is from American Crafts, and the brad is from Making Memories (tropic large flower). Stamps used are #2008(Piggy with Balloon) and #5012 (Happy B-Day).

If you like pig stamps...check back tomorrow...I just finished a card using 4 different pigs!!

Easter Parade

Ok...even I have to admit it...halfway through cutting out these little guys, I was wondering what I had gotten myself into. But, I pushed through and this is my version of an easter parade.

Just a quick post today...have a great Tuesday and thanks for stopping by!

Have Fun, Be Happy

Well...it's a new week...hope this project helps to get your week off to a great start!! It's a good reminder that you don't have to take everything so seriously...why not have a little fun? Be happy!!

This is the first time I got to play with chipboard. I used the rectangle and oval shapes from Bazzill. Then I painted it with Making Memories scrapbook paint in lemon and honeydew. I used stamps # 5048 (Be Happy), #5049 (Have Fun) and #5055 (Laugh Out Loud). I paper-pieced the flowers using plain white cardstock and added some bling in the centers. Then I connected the 3 chipboard pieces using wire and ribbon (green polka dot ribbon is from Heidi Grace)...I just taped it all in the back. (If you want you can glue printed paper to the back to hide the mess). Have a great week and remember:

Easter Favors

I was all ready to do a post first thing this morning...got my samples ready...opened up all the windows to let the light in...and my camera battery was dead! Oh brother! But, I re-charged my battery and would like to share with you the project I did for the make 'n take yesterday at Scrapbook Heaven. (If you ever get a chance to stop by the store, they have a great selection of scrapbooking things...it's a really fun store!!! It's located by the Costco in Waipio.)

It's really simple (that's just how I like it!!). Cut a 2" x 7" piece of printed cardstock (these are Pizzazzills by Creative Imaginations)...wrap it around a Ghirardelli chocolate square and secure it with double stick tape in the back. Then simply stamp your images and punch out with a scalloped oval punch...punch out some notches to thread your ribbon through...and tie your ribbon!! Some people at the demo said they were going to try these for baby showers..how cute would that be!!

Join Me For a Cup

For me, the only thing better than coffee is getting together with friends for coffee!! That's my plan for this Saturday...a good time to relax and get caught up on what's going on with everyone!!

For this card I used a dark brown cardstock for the card and the scalloped oval (Marvy super jumbo punch). The brown of the scalloped oval seemed a little too dark, so I got a light blue acrylic paint (just a little!) and swiped it across. The coffee cup is stamp # 5034 (Join Me For a Cup). The dragonfly and flower designs on the top were made with stamps #5044 (dragonfly swirl) and #5030 (scattered flowers) in frost white pigment ink. The paper is Pebbles - Make a Wish Dandelion (love those dandelions!) and the ribbon is from Martha Stewart.
I'll be doing a make and take on Saturday from 12-1 at Scrapbook Heaven in Waipio...so, if you're in the neighborhood, stop by and say hi!
And don't forget that Friday is the last day to enter for the blog candy! I'll be drawing a winner on Saturday...remember we're on Hawaiian time!

Bugs and Kisses

Spring is my favorite stamping time of year. You get to use so many bright and cheerful colors...and in these two cards...lots of cute bugs and flowers!!

For the first card, I started with a 1-3/4" x 2-1/4" piece of double sided cardstock (Chatterbox - Villa Swirls) and punched out a flower with a Marvy jumbo flower punch. I stamped #4023 (Sending You Smiles) on the punched out flower, and added #5008 (Ladybug With Flower) and #5009 (Bug With Flower). I mounted the whole thing with double stick foam onto a 2-1/2" x 4" orange cardstock.

For this second card I stamped #4023 (Sending You Smiles) and #5045 (Butterfly Swirl) on a white cardstock, rounded the corners and mounted it on orange cardstock (also with rounded corners). I punched out a circle with heart using Chatterbox - Villa Swirls...and a flower using Autumn Leaves - Blackbird Chickadee. Other stamps used include: #1022 (Bee), #5033 (Solid Flower 2) and #5030 (Scattered Flowers).

Easter Wishes

Happy Wednesday to all!! Just a few more days until a long 3 day weekend!! Just wanted to share a few cards I made. For some reason, things just seem to work out on certain days. It's a lot more fun than when nothing turns out right...know what I mean? Anyway, today was fun!! Hope you have some fun too!

To make the frame on this card, I first punched out a extra jumbo oval (scroll down later to see another card I made using these leftover ovals!). Then I centered that punched out oval in the middle of a super jumbo scalloped oval punch and mounted that onto the card with double stick foam. I used stamps # 1209 (Easter Wishes) and #1207 (Peeking Bunny...also mounted on double stick foam). I tied on some ribbons and added a brad (Making Memories - tropic large flower) along with a little bling.

Papers: Bazzill cardstocks, My Mind's Eye Surprise "Little Beauty" Plaid, My Mind's Eye Surprise "Girlfriend" Polka Dots and My Mind's Eye Party "Sisters" Paisley.

Here's a card I made using the leftover oval punches from the last card as easter eggs. Just zigzag cut one egg in half and make #1208 (Peeking Chick) pop out of it. Add #5006 (Daisy) and #1210 (Happy Easter).

Getting Ready for Easter

Did you know that Easter is coming early this year? Yup...it's on the 23rd of March! That means it's not too early to get started on your little goodies!!

I guess you know by now that I like to do little projects. Because my stamps are small...a lot of times my projects end up that way too! But, that also makes them quick and easy!! To make this little purse I started with a 4-1/2" x 1-3/4" piece of cardstock. Make 2 folds at 1-3/4" and 2-1/4" from one edge. To make the little "window" I punched a flower out of printed cardstock and then punched a circle in the middle of the flower. I glued a small piece of acetate to the back covering the circle. Next I put small strips of double stick foam in the back around the circle, but not visible from the front:

I poured some glitter right in the middle of this whole thing, so that it will be visible from the window. Then, very carefully, remove the paper backing from the double stick foam and center it on your purse. (It helps if you keep the flower window parallel to the ground and bring your purse to the window. Add #1205 (Chick With Jellybean) and some glitter glue around the window. To make the handles, just punch 2 small holes on the front and back of the purse. Cut two 6" pieces of ribbon and thread them through the holes and tie knots in the ends. Use double stick velcro to keep the purse closed.

Hooray!

It's always good to have some cards in your stash that can go for many different occassions. This card is really good beacuse it can be for a birthday, graduation or other special occassion. All you have to do is stamp the appropriate sentiment on the inside of the card.

For this card I used #4026 (Hooray Dog), #5010 (Hooray), #5011 (It's Your Day) and #5032 (Solid Flower 1). For the words...I stamped them on light blue cardstock and simply cut each word into a strip, then glued them on and applied Arctic Ice Stickles glitter glue. The dog is punched out with a Marvy square punch and inked around the edges with a green inkpad. The printed paper is from Scenic Route Paper Company - Medford Street Floral.

A Valentine Wish

OK...these red velvet cupcakes have been calling to me for months...every time I walk into the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, these guys are sitting in the display case looking so delicious. I've been able to refrain from getting them until yesterday when I walked in...I got a flash of inspiration...use the cupcake with your rubber stamps!! So, this is what I came up with:

For the card I used #5042 (Cupcake) and #1108 (Happy Valentine's Day). And for the cupcake I used #5039 (2 Ladybugs) and #5029 (Floral Heart)...taped to a toothpick and tied with a ribbon.

Now I just have to figure out what to do with that cupcake. ;)

Hope you all have a very Happy Valentine's Day!!

Rainy Days and Mondays...

It's been pretty wet recently, raining practically every day for the past couple of weeks. But, it has been a good chance to catch up on inside things (paperwork, phone calls, fun, FUN stuff!!!). At least I get to play with some of my stamps too! Here's what I came up with today...

Just a cute little gift idea for Valentine's Day (or any day, really...birthday, Mother's Day). I got a small jewelry box and covered just the lid with K& Co. - Smitten Pink Paisey. Then I tied a pink ribbon into a simple bow and hot glue-gunned (is that a word?) a silk rose over the ribbon. I stamped, colored and cut #1105 (Cat With Roses) and hot glue-gunned that into the center of the flower. I added glitter glue and a rhinestone onto the flower and tied a tiny gift tag stamped with #4015 (Script Love You). I used the same idea to decorate some tins I found at Ben Franklin (using #1102 - Mouse With Rose). I thought it would be cute as party/shower favors...or to wrap a little present!!

Well...I guess I'd better get ready to brave the rain and head to the market. Hope you all have a great week!!

Thanks

Can you believe this is the first time I've used this stamp? (#3015 - circle thanks) Sometimes I don't even have enough time to play with all my own stamps! How crazy is that!?! Anyway, I was happy with the way it turned out. I just stamped a bunch in different colors and punched them out with a 1" circle punch, and mounted them onto different colored cardstock (using Marvy extra jumbo flower punch). Stamp, color and cut #5009 (Bug With Flower) and mount on double stick foam. I used strips of green patterned paper for the stems and knotted a ribbon for the "leaves". I also mounted the pink flower on double stick foam, added some bling and finished it off with #5059 (You're Sweet). I also used the same method to make the little gift tag. Just punch a hole at the top to tie a ribbon through and decorate a little thank you gift!
