Reach for the Stars!!

This is a pretty busy weekend for graduations...if you don't have a card yet, here's an idea:

I used the pattern that comes in CL-10 (Flowers Cling Set) along with the Buddy stamp (MC-5 So Sweet Cling Set), Happy Graduation and graduation cap (MC-20 Graduation Cling Set) and # A157 (Reach for the Stars).

Congratulations to the class of 2012!!!

A Quick Tutorial

Hi there...just wanted to do a quick "how-to" for the tote favors I posted yesterday:

Start off with a 3" x 3" piece of paper.  Fold it in half in both directions to get a center point (below, left).  Fold each corner to the center point (below, center)...then each corner again to the center point (below, right):

Open up your folded piece completely.  Cut a 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" square of coordinating paper and place it in the center of your folded piece (below, left).  Next, fold each corner in as shown (below, right):

Fold each corner again along the pre-folded lines (below, left).  Flip the entire piece over and bring each corner again toward the center point...glue down each corner (below, right):

This fold comes in handy for a lot of projects...some of you may remember the calendar project from awhile back. Now that that fold is done, here's what you'll need for the rest of the project:

Click here for a pattern. Cut along solid lines and fold along dotted lines.  Apply double stick tape to 4 tabs and punch holes at 4 dots (using a 1/8" hole punch).  You'll also need two 11" pieces of ribbon for the handles, 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of card stock (black piece), 1" x 2-3/4" strip of coordinating paper, your folded frame and your cut and colored stamped image.

Insert the ribbon through the holes as shown below, tying a knot at each end...do the same thinig for the other handle.  Glue coordinating strip to card stock square...I stamped some bamboo leaves in gold (stamp is from CL-8 Friends Cling Stamp Set).  Mount image on folded frame using glue or foam dots.

Put all the pieces together (as shown below) using glue, or foam dots for more dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

New Cling Stamps!!

7 new clings...same 6 girls and 1 boy...but now in cling stamps and in a larger size.  These new stamp s are approximately 1-1/2" tall.

Made a few little favor bags (approximately 3-1/2" tall). The gold bamboo leaf stamp is from CL-8 (Friends Cling Stamp Set):

Picked up this pad of Basic Grey papers from J's Knicknacks  last month because I thought they would work really well with my new girl stamps:

I finally got a chance to use them to make this simple gift card holder (all printed papers are from the Konnichiwa Set...including the kimono and obi) :

Here's a link to the gift card holder pattern I did a while back. Have a good evening!!!

A Card for Father's Day

Like many of you, I struggle with making cards for men (after all, there's only so much cuteness a guy can stand).  For this card I used MC-2 (So Glad We're Friends) along with a few small sheets of newspaper...I folded the newspaper and cut out an "extra hand" stamp and glued them together:

Hope that gives you some inspiration for your next "guy" card!!!

Last Minute Favors for Mother's Day

Here's an idea for some last minute favors for Mother's Day...I got a bunch of hand sanitizers from Bath & Body Works.  I love them because they're inexpensive and come  the most beautiful colors!!

You can personalize them with each person's initial:

I looked around and couldn't find a large sakura punch...so, here's what I did.  Stamp your image and punch it out with a Marvy (yellow) flower punch.  Just eyeball the center point of each petal and mark with a pencil:

Then I put each petal into a star punch...center your pencil mark and punch out just the tiniest bit of the tip:

And here's your sakura:

I also colored the background and applied a thin layer of glitter glue.  The dangling sakura is from CL-8 (Friends Cling Set)...I punched a 1/16" hole and attached it to a jump ring.  Attach to the bottle using a foam dot...and you're done!!

Carried Away

I started off today intending to ink up one of our new mini girl stamps and use it to decorate a mini clothespin that I got from Ben Franklin.  Well...one thing lead to another and I ended making clothespins out of all 7 new designs:

They're more decorative than functional.  Each girl/guy is stamped and colored on white card stock with a layer of Glossy Accents over it.  (Mini flower stamp is #5032).  Then I thought it would make a really cute set and I should make some kind of box for them to go in:

Since Mother's Day is right around the corner, I thought I'd decorate it for that occasion.  Then I thought I'd draw up a quick pattern to share in case you wanted to give it a try...click here.  I also cut a piece of acetate to clip the pins to...3/4" x 6" (score at 3/8" from each side).  Now that I have this set all ready to go, I thought it would make a nice "mini" giveaway...hop on over to our Facebook page to enter!!!
