One More For Girl'sDay

Ever since I made Kimono Maddy with a dangling crystal flower a couple of posts ago, I thought it would make a cute ornament. Since it's almost Girl's Day, I decided to hang some "ornaments" on a cherry blossom branch. Of course, we don't have cherry blossoms here in Hawaii...so, here's a close-up of what I came up with:

I just cut a few wires to make the branches and wrapped them with florist tape (adding in a few blossoms here and there). For the blossoms, I used some paper flowers (shown below). I scrunched the flowers up to make them look more like cherry blossoms...and I cut some green flowers to make the leaves.

Stamps used: #B140 (Kimono Maddy) and #4011 (Sakura). Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

A Love "Letter"

Happy Wednesday!!! Valentine's Day is sure coming up fast!!! Are you ready? If not, here's a simple pattern for Valentine's Day (or any day, really) that you can download here.

It looks like a regular envelope, but I made it 1/2" wide so you can put more than just a card inside. I also added a little postage stamp to make it look more like a letter. Below, I have a shot of the reverse side where I sealed the envelope with a stamped image of Sweetpea:

ok...this pattern is pretty easy. Just cut on the solid lines and fold on the dotted lines. There are just 2 tabs on this pattern...secure them to the bottom piece with double stick tape. Then fold 2 side flaps toward center, and glue where the two flaps overlap (as shown below):

Apply glue to the edges of the bottom flap...fold up and adhere:

That's it!! Simple, huh? Now, just decorate!! Here's one more example:

And here's a picture of the two envelopes with some fun-size m&m's (of course, you can fill it with whatever fits...got any good ideas to share??)

A Candy Holder

I can't believe that Valentine's Day is just under two weeks away!! Better get going on some ideas for those of you (like me) who are not ready for it yet!!! I picked up some of these plastic tubes (shown below) from Stamps & Memories a little while ago, but could never figure out what to do with them. So, I came up with a pattern for a carrier that you can download here.

Cut along the solid lines and fold along the dotted lines. Place double stick tape on all the tabs, except for 3 tabs on the right pattern piece (as shown below):

Below is a picture of the 2 pieces put together. Place the piece on the right (with the cutout hole facing down, and cover closed) on to the piece on the left...matching top edges. Open the cover to slip the tube into the carrier.

Here's another "more traditional" one:

And one for Girl's Day (while I was at it):

I used good old scotch tape to attach a silver cord to the back of my cutout image...then tied a crystal flower to the end of the cord and dangled it from the Girl's Day sentiment.

Before I go, here are a few projects I've seen (out in blogland) using Dandelion Design stamps:

Enjoy!!!
