For All You "Pink" Fans...
...and I know there are a lot of you out there!!! I started this card by stamping #C105 (Maddy & Tweet) and punching it out with a Marvy (pink) scalloped oval punch...then kept adding layer on layer on layer...it eventually all added up to this card. Other stamps used are: #B104 (Flower Border), #5048 (Be Happy) and # 1022 (Bee). Can you tell I paper pieced Maddy's top?
Gotta run...just wanted to do a quick post to share this card with you!!!

Mini Scrapbook/Card
Here's a really simple pattern that you can use to make a mini scrapbook or card, click here to download.
As you can see, it's a really tiny scrapbook...around the size of a Stickles bottle. It got to be that tiny mainly because I wanted to be able to use a Marvy scalloped oval punch (pink) to make the pages of the scrapbook/card. I tried to get a few of the steps in one picture (below):
First, punch out 3 pieces of cardstock with the Marvy scalloped oval punch, and fold them all in half widthwise. Then glue the 3 folded ovals back-to-back to make the "pages" of the scrapbook/card. Cut out the pattern along the solid lines and fold along the dotted lines. Make a tiny cut in the middle of the bottom fold line (just wide enough to slip a 4" piece of ribbon through...and tape down one end of the ribbon. Next, punch out 2 pieces of cardstock using a small (yellow) Marvy scalloped oval punch...take one of these pieces and tape down another (4") piece of ribbon. Decorate the other punched piece with a stamp (this stamp is #5001 - Dog in Flowers).
Glue the decorated oval on the top flap of the scrapbook/card...then glue the second piece to the back of the first piece (so that the ribbon is sandwiched between the 2 ovals). Glue down the "pages" into the scrapbook card as shown above. Here's a sample of a card with sentiments stamped on the different pages:
Here's a sample of it as a scrapbook:
Hope you give it a try!!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Thanks for Checking In...
Sorry for the loooong break!! Last week was just a CRAZY week for me and when I did have some time to try to create something...it ended up in the trash!!! NMAA...(No Mojo At All!!) BUT...things have quieted down a bit and hopefully I can get back into the creative groove. Here's my first attempt...simple...no coloring and no cutting out...just stamp and layer!! The stamps I used are: #5044 (Dragonfly Swirl), #5045 (Butterfly Swirl), #6003 (Flower Spray), #B103 (Fancy Scroll) and #4016 (Script Happy Birthday).
Hope your week is off to a great start and your creative ideas are flowing!!!!!!

Let's Go Shopping!!
What girl doesn't love to go shopping? And shopping with a friend makes it even more fun!! Here's a card you can send to make a shopping date with that friend you haven't seen forever!!
I started with making a bunch of my own patterned paper using the following stamps (from top to bottom): #5031 (Floral Scroll), #6003 (Flower Spray), #B103 (Fancy Scroll), #5030 (Scattered Flowers) and #6004 (Funky Flower). Then I added #C103 (Maddy at the Mall)...punched out with a Marvy (blue) oval punch and mounted on a purple cardstock punched with a Marvy (pink) scalloped oval punch.
Here's the inside sentiment using #A103 (Shopping) and #6003 (Flower Spray)...punched out with a Marvy (blue) tag punch. Shop til you drop!!!!

Cherish Simple Joys
Hi!! Finally made it to post a card!! I've had an idea floating around in my head about using bits and pieces of things suspended on ribbons...and this is what I came up with. I used 3 different stamps: #C104 (Maddy & Pip), #B104 (Flower Border) and #6005 (Cherish). Next, I used different punches to cut out just parts of each stamp, then attached a ribbon to each piece.
The card I used measures approximately 3-1/2" x 5"...I cut 2 pieces of printed cardstock into 3-1/4" x 4-3/4" pieces. I glued the first piece (dotted paper) onto the card. For the second piece (floral paper), I cut out the center... leaving a 1/2" border all around. Then, I simply taped each ribbon to the back of the frame (see below for picture) and mounted the whole thing on pop dots. (I even put pop dots behind each of the punched pieces to keep it more stable).
Paper used: Scenic Route - Canal Street Floral. Happy stamping!!!

Sweet Little Baby
Hope you're all having a good Tuesday!! I can't believe we're already half way through July!! Just wanted to share a quick baby card using one of our new word stamps (#6002 - Sweet Baby), along with some of our old favorites: #4027 (Alligator), #4028 (Giraffe) and #4029 (Hippo). I colored the animal images in with colored pencils to give it a soft, "baby" look...then punched out the wording with a small (yellow) Marvy scalloped oval punch and attached a safety pin (Hero Arts).
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Photo Craft Make 'n Take
Thanks to all of you who came to the make 'n take this past Saturday at Photo Craft!! It was so nice to see you!!! Here's a sample of the project we did:
It's a little hard to get the idea in print, but basically...the greeting slides out from behind the character as you open the card. I'll try to explain it as best I can...please feel free to write to me if it doesn't make sense :)
We'll need 2 pieces. We'll call the first piece the CARD and the second piece the POCKET. The CARD piece is 2-1/2" wide x 11" long...I'll refer to this piece by either its RIGHT or LEFT side. First, we'll make 3 scored lines from the RIGHT side...the first will be 3" from the right edge...the next 6" from the right edge and the last is 8-1/2" from the right edge. Fold the first scored line inwards...the second scored line inwards and the third fold line outwards (as shown below).
The POCKET piece measures 1-7/8" wide x 3-1/8" long. Make a 1/4" score line along the 2 short sides and a 1/4" score line along the long (bottom) edge. To reduce some of the bulk, you need to cut out 2 pieces as shown below (approximately 3/8" along the bottom fold line).
Next, glue the bottom tab of the POCKET along the RIGHT edge of the CARD:
Lift up the POCKET and put a piece of scotch tape over the tab (this will help the card slide more smoothly).
Now, glue the 2 remaining side tabs of the POCKET down. On the LEFT side of the CARD, cut a small strip off either side of the width...up until the second fold line. Also, put a piece of double stick tape as shown below:
Now you can slide the LEFT side of the CARD into the POCKET: (press down the part that has the double stick tape...notice how cutting off just a small amount off the width of the LEFT side makes it easier to slide it into the POCKET?)
Now, you just need to decorate your card...here are 2 more samples:
When stamping your inside sentiment/picture...make sure you have the card opened all the way, and stamp as close to the POCKET as possible.
Hope you give it a try...it'll make more sense once you start doing it!! Have a great week!!!

Today's winner is...
NAYA!!!!! Naya, you win the Max stamp!!! Just email your address to me at dandelion.designs@hawaiiantel.net and Max will be on his way to his new home!!!! Thanks to all who entered...sounds like a lot of you just took it easy on the 4th with family and friends...that's always nice!! My family and I braved the crowds at Ala Moana to see the fireworks up close (it's been awhile since we've done that!!). It was just beautiful, especially at the end when they went wild and started releasing tons of fireworks at once!!! Thanks also to the wacky few who answered my dog question...too funny!!!
Now on to business...I wanted to show you another card using "Maddy at the Beach". (Because I never did get a chance to give her away!!).
I used my exacto knife to cut out a "lei-shaped" opening in the front of the card. Then I stamped a bunch of flowers using stamps #4003 (Flower Power) and #4004 (Mini Flower Power). I cut out each flower (I know...even I regretted it after I started...but, I think it's worth the effort in the end), and filled them in with different colored glitter glues. I glued all the flowers around the edge of the opening...putting glue just in the center of each flower and curling the petals up. Then I stamped #4008 (Love From Hawaii) and B101 (Maddy at the Beach) on the inside (centered in the middle of the lei opening).
Ok...time for the giveaway. If you would like to win a "Maddy at the Beach" stamp, leave a post by the end of tomorrow, Sunday July 6 (Hawaii time) and tell me what your favorite beach or swimming spot is. I'll pick one entry at random and announce the winner on Monday July 7. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend!!!

Good Ol' Max
Next in line is...Max!! Warm and fuzzy...faithful til the end...with a bit of a sweet tooth!! I tried using a longer card than I usually do...that made it fun!! I don't know if you can see it, but I'm still playing with the white StazOn ink on the clear buttons from Hero Arts...I used stamp #B103 (Fancy Scroll) to make the swirls on the buttons. Here's another idea using Max...it was made by Lianne from Cute Stuff:
Pretty cute, huh? (She used the pattern that you can download from the 6/27 - "Meet Sam" post). I love seeing what people do with Dandelion stamps!! If you send me a card you've made using Dandelion stamps...I'd be happy to post it here and share it with everyone!!! Send your works of art to Dandelion Designs, P.O. Box 61643, Honolulu, Hawaii 96839.
Also, remember to leave a comment on the post below by midnight tonight, July 2 (Hawaii time) to have the chance to win a "Maddy at the Mall" stamp. I'll announce the winner tomorrow!!

Maddy at the Mall
Happy Tuesday, everyone!!!! Hope you're enjoying our new designs!! Just wanted to let you know that we now have all the new designs up on our website...so, hop on over and take a look!!!
Our new design for today is Maddy at the mall. I have the pattern for this little purse that you can download here.
Just cut the main pattern piece along the solid lines and fold along the dotted ones. There's another rectangular pattern piece that is the part that holds the gift cards/money. For this piece, cut the slits in the cardstock before you fold along the dotted lines...make as many slits as you want...this is where you can slide the gift cards in. Use double stick tape along the sides and bottom of this piece and stick it on the center section of the main piece.
To attach the handle, I used a slot punch ON the fold line between the flap and center section of the purse (one punch on each side). Then I slipped one end of a 14" piece of ribbon through each slot and tied a knot to hold the handle in place. Use velcro to close the flap.
ok...now that the instructions are done, let's get to the fun part!! Leave a post by Wednesday, July 2 (Hawaii time) and I'll draw one winner at random to win one "Maddy at the Mall" stamp. Tell me the first place you would go if you had $1000 to spend. I'll announce the winner on Thursday morning July 3!!!! (Is it July already?!?!?!)
